242pp., frontispiece, bound in green pebble cloth triple ruled in blind, spine lettering gilt, some chipping to spine tips, minor wear to corners, previous owner's bookplate and stamp, yellow endpapers with markings of bookplate removal otherwise, quite clean, internally clean and bright. The story of the life and literary labours including a selection from his characteristic speeches, now for the first time gathered together. In memoriam by Charles Dickens, and a sketch by Anthony Trollope with portrait and illustratins.
