Second edition (as stated; originally published 1932). x, 454 pages. Hardcover: H 22.75cm x L 14.5cm. Dust jacket toned with some soiling and stains; large loss to spine panel; shallow wear at edges; front flap's bottom corner is price-clipped; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Blue cloth; 1.5cm x 3cm chip to surface cloth below spine center but not affecting spine's otherwise still bright gilt stamping. Toning to text block edges. O'Casey family Mississippi and Ireland genealogical-themed bookplate affixed upon front pastedown; past owner's ink name stamp "Albert E. Casey, M.D." at top of front free endpaper, title page, and rear pastedown; red ink number stamp at bottom center of ffep which seems to have been Dr. Casey's personal library catalog# (per other number stamps among books from his collection); a few scatter spots of soiling to interior leaves which otherwise remain clean; rear free endpaper's bottom fore-edge corner creased. Binding is firm. With "Preface to the Second Edition," "Preface to the First Edition," Bibliography, and General Index. Chapter titles as follows: "Infinite Series, Products, and Integrals; "Analytic Functions; "Residues, Contour Integration, Zeros; "Analytic Continuation; "The Maximum-Modulus Theorem; "Conformal Representation; "Power Series with a Finite Radius of Convergence; "Integral Functions; "Dirichlet Series; "The Theory of Measure and the Lebesgue Integral; "Differentiation and Integration; "Further Theorems on Lebesgue Integration; and "Fourier Series." British mathematician Edward Charles Titchmarsh (1899-1963) served as University of Oxford Savilian Professor of Geometry from 1932-1963. Book was acquired from the estate of Birmingham, Alabama pathologist, bibliophile, and genealogist Dr. Albert Eugene Casey (1903-1982) who served as director of laboratories at Birmingham Baptist Hospitals from 1942-1972.
