About this Item
A terrific anthology of Churchill's essays and magazine articles from the 1920s and early 1930s on a wide variety of subjects, including "Painting as a Pastime." Issued in the U.S. under the title AMID THESE STORMS. This is a very good copy, in an unclipped dust jacket, of the First Printing of the Macmillan wartime reprint edition. The jacket is a bit darkened, particularly along the spine. The binding is virtually mint, the contents fine, with a faint ink gift inscription dated "46" on the front free endpaper and an inked endnote on the rear free endpaper. The hinges are just beginning to give, else fine. 8vo (320 pages, with frontis portrait) (Cohen A95.4a) (A39c.3). Seller Inventory # 144039
