A remarkable example of postmodernist deconstruction, this play explores the relationship between art and reality and of the nature of the theatrical process, including action offstage and the original idea of actors watching a film, now a cliché of contemporary performance. Octavo: 231 p. Original pink cloth binding, with a printed paper spine label. Light offsetting to the front endpaper, with some general toning to the spine label. In the second issue dust jacket, with an excerpt from the New York Times concerning Pirandello receiving the 1934 Nobel Prize in Literature on the rear panel. The dust jacket is toned along the spine and folds, with a single tape reinforcement on the verso; otherwise very good. Seller Inventory # 77590
