Ocravo, 9.5 in. x 6 in., pp. xvi, 499. Contemporary brown quarter cloth over tan boards. Professionally rebacked spine, with original, repaired spine and paper label laid down. Untrimmed fore- and bottom-edges. Rubbing to extremities with light soiling; corners are nudged and showing. Endpapers and preliminary pages moderately foxed, but the text itself is clear, with an occasional spot. Front free endpaper partially detached. Previous owner's inscription, dated 1907, upside-down on rear pastedown. Puckler-Muskau (1785-1871) was a German nobleman who served in the army against Napoleon. He later toured England, Ireland and France, this book being an account of his adventures, written in a series of forty-eight letters. Seller Inventory # 87881

Hardback. Recently rebound in half brown leather and marbled boards, gilt lettering with 4 raised bands on spine, 8vo, xvi, 499 pp., new maroon endpapers. Puckler-Muskau (1785-1871) was a German nobleman who served in the army fighting Napoleon, and later toured England and Ireland for several years. This book is an account of that tour. Old blindstamp and number on title page only marks in book, binding tight. Very light foxing first few pages. Covers clean with no wear. Book condition VG+. Binding: HB.
