Item description from seller

SENEGAL VESTED IN KING GEORGE III. Folio (11.25 inches). 5 George III, Chapter 44. General title leaf + pages 791-796. Royal coat of arms and factotum initial. Text in Black Letter. Neatly extracted from a bound volume. During the Seven Years' War with France, the British captured the Fort of Senegal and the entire French colony on the Senegalese coast in 1758. Accordingly, in 1764, the British government assigned possession of Senegal and its associated forts, settlements, and factories between the Port of Sallee and Cape Rouge to the Company of Merchants Trading to Africa. By this 1765 Act, the Senegalese property assignments (together with other associated property and effects) that were made to the Company of Merchants Trading to Africa in 1764 were reversed, and the properties vested in King George III.
