Ex-library with usual markings. Memoriam notice for Dr. Thomas Dawes Blake (1768-?) of Maine affixed to front pastedown, with his ink ownership to front flyleaf and title page. Two engraved plates following Appendix in very good condition. A few pages chipped at corners, not affecting text. Block sound. Moderate to light foxing at front and rear only. As is. Heirs of Hippocrates notes that White's attention to "absolute cleanliness" and isolation of infected patients made this book a force in the reform of obstetric medical practice.
