85 pp. First American edition with original pale blue boards with applied stamp. Color pictorial endpapers. 27 wonderful color illustrations that depict the destructive mischief the two mice wrought on a doll house.It is the classic tale of two naughty mice by Beatrix Potter. Potter, as with most of her titles took inspiration from her surroundings, in the case her own pet mouse, who shared the name Hunca Munca. 5 1/2" x 4" N.B. These two copies sold as Lot 69 at Christie's East, the Doris Frohnsdorff Collection, April 16, 1997. The overall condition is fine. Spine faded, a little wear to extremities, bookseller's label on front free endpaper, front hinge cracked.
