Slim 8vo., 230pp. Solid First Edition of this delightful book about books with essays about some of the great 19th century authors including Kipling, Stowe, Stevenson, Twain, and many others. Bound in publisher's green cloth with lettering on spine and front board in gilt. Decoration stamped in black on front board. Illustrated. Square and clean throughout with little or no toning or spotting to pages. A few scattered spots on the end-papers. Front hinge cracked, rear hinges starting but holding firm. Some moderate edge-wear and scuffing to boards. A presentable collectable copy at a great price.
