An interesting account of Tanganyika and Lake Tanganyika, looking in detail at the marine life found in the lake on the author's two expeditions to Central Africa. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, eight folding maps, eleven colour plates, and thirty-nine monochrome plates. Written by John Edmund Sharrock Moore, an English biologist who is best known for leading his expeditions to Tanganyika With a presentation slip tipped in to the recto to the front endpaper, 'Presented by the Tanganyika Exploration Committee to the Honourable Charles Ellis, one of the Subscribers to the Fund by means of which the Exploration was carried out'. With four pages of publisher's adverts to the rear. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Front hinge is weak. Internally, firmly bound.
