Very good, first American book in very good dust jacket. Blue cloth covered boards with ivory lettering on front panel and spine. Upper page edges are lightly tinted. Boards are clean, extremities lightly faded. Light scuffs along edges at head and tail of board spine. Upper edge of front panel has a shallow bump near the center. Small hole (puncture?) toward tail of spine, approx. 1 1/4" from base. Minimal scuffs at fore-edge tips and elsewhere along board edges. External side and lower page edges are a bit age-toned. Mild shadow-transfers on end papers. Minimal age-toning to text pages, else very clean. No foxing. Text block is tight. Dust jacket has light scuffing overall. All fore-edge folds are scuffed but not rubbed through. Back jacket panel shows a bit grubby against the off-white background when compared to the inside flaps. Jacket spine is lightly sunned; tail of spine has similar small hole as the board spine. Front panel has several small shallow scrapes toward the lower half of the fore-edge fold. Upper edge and corners at head of jacket spine have several chips with adjacent creases and closed tears, with loss of up to 1/4" in several places. Upper right front fore-edge corner is rubbed and chipped with loss of approx. 1/4". Minimal rubs on the other three fore-edge corners. The upper right corner of the front inside flap has a 2" by 1 1/8" price clip; the other three inside flap corners have uniform clips of 3/4" by 1/2".
