First edition thus. First International Publishers Edition with 1926 on title page; this is the uncensored edition following the 1919 Boni & Liveright true first. Near fine hardcover with no dust jacket; red cloth boards are bright & still a rich red color with light wear incl. light spine bumps & a small paint mark on spine. Pages are still crisp & bright with slight toning, no marks. There is an interesting vintage ex-libris woodcut-style bookplate ("Ex Libris Nassau Farm," with a printed signature) on front endpaper in excellent condition with light age toning.

A premium piece of early 20th-century political history. International Publishers was the literary arm of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) and this 1926 printing marks the first edition issued by them. The book captures John Reed?s eyewitness account of the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution in its unexpunged form (heavily censored soon after following Stalin's rise to power). Scarce.
