Pages and plates and lightly tanned, but text and images remain clear. Heavy foxing to edges and first and last few pages. Binding is slightly shaky, due to cracked front hinge, but all pages remain attached. Previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper. Deckled edges. Boards have moderate shelf-wear, with noticeable corner bumping and some scuffing to edges. Spine ends are noticeably crushed and split, with heavy splitting overall; cloth is peeling away from pages. Gilt remains bright. Moderate rubbing and scuffing to rear board. Octavo/8vo, measures around 6 1/8" by 9" by 1 7/8". Blue cloth binding, blind-stamped boards with gilt lettering and decoration to front board and spine. A little marking and some scuffing to binding but quite clean and colouring still vivid. Signs of wear, rubbing at edges and on hinges. Bumped corners. A little slackness to binding but contents reasonably firm. Upper page edges gilt with some dulling, scuffing and marking. Lower and fore-edges browned, tanned and a little foxed and otherwise marked. Pages reasonably neatly opened at fore-edges thought uncut.
