Thirteen-year-old twins Marty and Grace O'Hara's globe-trotting parents disappeared while on assignment for a nature magazine, and now they're living with their uncle Wolfe, a scientist fascinated by cryptids -- creatures that appear in myths and folktales but haven't been proven to exist, like Sasquatch and the Loch Ness Monster. About the Author

Roland Smith first worked with animals at the Portland Zoo, and he has been involved in animal rescues and conservation work around the world for more than twenty years. He is the author of Jack's Run, Zach's Lie, Cryptid Hunters, and Peak, as well as the coauthor of numerous picture books with his wife, Marie. Roland lives with Marie on a farm south of Portland, Oregon, and he enjoys writing, raveling, and visiting schools.
