Laurencin, Marie. First edition, one of 400 copies on Lafuma-Navarre. 4 full page colored aquarelles and several colored head and tail-pieces by Marie Laurencin, engraved on wood by Jules Germain. [40] pp. 1 vols. 4to. Artist Marie Laurencin (1883 1956), cubist painter and printmaker, was born in Paris; she was associated with Picasso, Picabia and Delaunay, and had friendships with Apollinaire, Braque and Natalie Clifford Barney. Andre Paul Guillaume Gide won the 1947 Nobel Prize in Literature. Pictorial wrappers. A fine, bright copy in publisher's unprinted glassine dust wrapper; glassine is nicked at tips of spine, thin chip on rear panel, else bright and crisp 4 full page colored aquarelles and several colored head and tail-pieces by Marie Laurencin, engraved on wood by Jules Germain.
