First edition of this first short story collection from Marshall. Publisher's catalogue at rear, dated Spring 1913. Listed in Hubin's Bibliography of Crime Fiction, some of the short stories being "criminous" in nature. Very good copy with red boards maintaining a bright color and gilt lettering completely in tact. There are a few minor spots of soiling with some rubbing to cloth at corners and spine ends. Internally clean and sound. Very scarce dust jacket is present, but split along joints and foredge of front cover. There is chipping and loss at spine ends and corners, but it is a miraculous survivor. Price of 6/- present on spine. Seller Inventory # 3650
