A first edition collection of W. H. Auden's final poetry, published posthumously. A first edition. In a cloth binding with the publisher's original unclipped dust wrapper. A collection of W. H. Auden's final poetry, which were published posthumously after his death in 1973. In place of any unfinished poems caused by his death, the publisher's have included Auden's last work for the stage, 'The Entertainment of the Senses'. Wystan Hugh Auden (1907-1973) was a British-American poet, whose popular poems include 'Funeral Blues', 'September 1, 1939', and 'Shield of Achilles'. Prepared for publication by Edward Mendelson, who was Auden's literary executor. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, excellent with some minor shelf wear and light age-toning to the edges. The publisher's original unclipped dust wrapper is in a very smart condition. Fading to the spine.
