8vo, i-xxii, 240 pp, 86 black and white figures, original brown cloth, titling a little faded on the spine, slight 'nick' to the top of the spine, stamp of The Wellcome Institute Library on the reverse of the title page and blank space of the final page but overall a very good copy. Translated from the original German edition by Robert Brudenell Carter.
