Edited from two manuscripts that remained unpublished upon his death, the book was assembled and completed by Arthur W. Burks. A foundational work, considered a cornerstone of automata theory, complex systems, and artificial life. Uncommon in this condition.

Binding remains tight, sturdy and square, internally clean with no markings. Jacket shows just traces of shelfwear with a very faint small stain near spine heel.
