HB 1st Ed. Sept 1939. Grey cloth boards, Black titles + scroll square front. No titles spine. See pic. 16 x 10.7cm. 44 pages. First page states: Nihil Obstat: P. Canonicus Long, Censor Deputatus. Imprimatur (with old cross illust) Guliemus, Ep. Cliftonien. die 12a Septembris 1939. Printed dedication as bound: To My Dear Bertie. Preface which is again unnamed has the word 'salvation' lined through and very neat black ink above is written 'satisfaction'. The opening chapter states:- 'I am writing down some of my thoughts from early days, before I came into the church, and, as they are my own, may interest you' The writer's thoughts are in black text, biblical quotes are in red. Reading through odd bits of this book, I wondered whether there was a royal connection. It mentions Westminster Cathedral; servants; prominent places of the period; writers of the period. Condition: Cover age discoloured. Rubbed on spine, sides, corners. Opening and closing pages are yellowing. P37 slight stretch in binding string, very minor. Clean, little wear, binding firm, overall good even colour. Good + condition. Seller Inventory # 003057
