8vo., 296pp. Beautiful First Edition. Bound in original yellow cloth with titles in black on front board and spine. Square, tight and clean throughout with just a hint of toning to end-papers. A touch of wear to spine ends but quite minor. Some light, scattered spotting to cloth boards but still very well preserved. Gorgeous unclipped dust-jacket, ($2.00), has a touch of toning to white areas but is fresh and bright with no chipping, creases, or tears. Long and endearing signed and dated inscription, (in the year of publication), by the author on the front end-paper to a teach who clearly had a profound positive impact on the author. "Dear Johnny Berdau (sp), Eight men took your advanced course in writing in the spring of 1925. One of these could write and he is now teaching mathematics. Seven couldn't; they are all engaged at present in more or less literary pursuits. Here is a book by one of the seven. Such virtues as it may have are largely due to you. On the whole it is pretty lousy; a mental game, no more. I recommend that you don't read it. However, it carries with it a renewed expression of my regard. George Dyer Bedford, N.Y. 04/.30/31". A very pretty collectable copy of the author's first book with a wonderful inscription. A scarce title in any condition an this copy is exceptional. (Hubin, p.127). Seller Inventory # 016739
