This is '"Thy Poor Brother" - Letters to a Friend on Helping the Poor'by Mrs Sewell and published by Jarrold and Sons in 1863. This is a cloth hardcover in a navy shade with gilt titling to a decorative embossed spine and front cover. The cover shows significant bumping and scuffing to corners and edges particularly at spine end where the cloth has ripped exposing the hardcover. The cover shows a school libray sticker plus handling and usage marks including scuffing. To the interior the mesh binding has stretched and is exposed but book remains intact. The front and rear fly pages has minor pencil marks and school library sticker. The pages show some age spotting and yellowing. Pages 239, dimensions 18cm x 12.3cm x 2.8cm.

The Clock Bookshop is a valuable resource for book lovers in the heart of the Fens with funds raised from book sales being donated to 'The Octavia Hill Birthplace House Trust' charity in Wisbech. Octavia Hill was the driving force and treasurer of the influential Kyrle Society sharing the view 'books for all'. It therefore feels appropriate that we extend our 'books for all' maxim by not only selling a range of quality books in our Wisbech bookshop but also rare, out of print and antiquarian books online.

Shipping terms
- Any book purchased will packaged and shipped within 5 working days. In circumstances where this target cannot be achieved we will contact you and explain reason and revised shipping/posting schedule.
- We re use packaging where possible. Your package will be secure and safe, but may look a little untidy!
- Small books will be packaged in padded envelopes, larger books will be box packed, multiple book purchases in a single transaction will be packaged in a single box.
- It is the buyers responsibilty to make arrangements to be at home or make suitable arrangements for package delivery of pickup.
- The seller will accept delivery address changes only within 12 hours of purchase. After this time delivery address changes are difficult to execute with delivery companies.
- The average weight postage is based upon is 650grams
