Undated c1880. Albert Hildesheim, publisher (1843-1924) went into partnership with Charles William Faulkner in 1881 so this copy would appear to predate that. Small slim 4to, pp14 with inside covers printed and eight charming chromolithographic illustrations by Alice Reeve. Soft cover issued without DJ. Pictorial card binding in good condition with rubbing and small split to spine, a little rubbing to edges and some marking. Inside, a little aging to pages and the odd fingermark, otherwise all pages and plates in lovely clean and bright condition. A lovely copy penned by Weatherly who was estimated to have written the lyrics to at least 3,000 popular songs, among the best-known of which is the sentimental ballad "Danny Boy". A very nice copy of children's Victoriana.
