A very smart first edition of this chaotic work from Emma Tennant. First edition. An overnight split in the earth's crust, right in the heart of the River Thames, brings about a cataclysm of chaos in the city. Tennant entertains with a series of character vignettes exploring the reaction to this bizarre event. Written by Emma Tennant, an English novelist and editor known for her post-modern approach to fiction. In the original grey cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart with light shelf wear to the extremities and sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Fine.
