Reviews
Grade 4-6-- Eternally popular themes with preteens are the woes of the child attempting to belong and the escapades of the child who lies to gain acceptance and then must cover one white lie with another lest his peer group discover the misrepresentation. Ransom weaves together both themes. Aubrey Shannon, 10, tries to join the "in group" by presenting her mother as an actress and her father as a football star. Smooth writing style, believable characterizations, and a satisfying conclusion make this a nice additional purchase that will bring smiles to the faces of Conford and Greenwald fans. --Alice Cronin, Mountainside Pub .
