Four large size quarto volumes uncut 10 x 12.5 inches, bound in publisher's very fine-grain dark plum-brown cloth; all boards with edges and corners rubbed, all covers loose, all backstrips lacking -- a binding copy. Internally minimal age spotting except light and expected foxing to the maps, most maps without separations at the folds, but there are some exceptions [the large map of England being, sadly, the worst example]. All text blocks square and tight. Previous owner "Gibbons" on front pastedown of volume 1 -- there are 3 Gibbons on the subscriber list; all 4 half-titles present; VG internally with original boards, worthy of professional attention.
