[vi]+634p. 12 maps (4 folding). 45 maps in total. Intermittent foxing and browning throughout, especially to the maps and adjacent pages. The large multi-panel folding maps of England, London and Yorkshire have tears, some of which have been repaired with tape. Some maps are more heavily foxed and stained than others, but all are affected to some extent. A few odd small tears to pages elsewhere, but overall the text is in very good condition. Bound firmly in publisher' s green cloth boards with gilt-lettered brown spine labels. Boards are worn slightly at corners and tails of spines; heads of spines are frayed with some small tears. Lower board of vol. IV only is damp-stained; the damp has also affected the rear endpapers and to a lesser extent the preceding page. All four volumes have, on the blank page between the front endpaper and the half-title, a presentation note consisting of a seal stamp showing a horned animal above the initials WBB, above the words 'To G.F. Esq.' In addition the words 'Staines 1831' are written at the foot of the page.…
