Volume 2 takes the story from Volume 1 and looks at the vast range of models and kits that have been produced from countries all over the world. The introduction looks at the various scales and gauges in use, then the three main manufacturing materials: plastic, white metal and brass. The final chapter looks back to Volume 1 and adds new information that has come to light since its publication. To help identify models the book contains an index of manufacturers for both volumes and there are around 600 full colour photographs. Around 4,000 individual model trams and kits are identified, with the listing in each chapter being alphabetical by manufacturer. There are around 1,000 manufacturers named, most having a historical summary.
