The English-language issue of the first edition. Folio. [5pp] + 12 tipped-in colour plates followed by a three-page calendar. Stiff boards with an integral dust wrapper, which is a little rubbed, toned and spotted, and with the original protective tissue, somewhat nicked, torn and toned. A nice bright copy - the plates in excellent state. The first of two issues of 'Verve', the celebrated French Review of Art and Literature, devoted to the 'Book of Hours' commissioned by John, Duke of Berry - "le roi des manuscrits enluminés".
