This very good copy is bound in terracotta cloth with bright gilt titling to the spine. The unclipped dust wrapper has some edge wear and small areas of loss, it has now been covered in clear, removable, protective film. The steam tractor, the traction engine and the road locomotive are here discussed, and their general arrangement and chief components are examined in detail. descriptions are given of the many processes used in making and assembling scale model engines. these are coal fired and steam driven, and are capable of hauling with ease a load of passengers. Mechanical and other details of six specific engines of different types are examined, technical terms being clearly explained for the non-technical reader.
