Dark red block covered boards with round gilt-stamped author's logo in center of front panel; gilt stamped lettering on spine. Upper page edges are gilt. Spine and extremities are sunned. Edges are head and tail of board spine are crimped and with small amount of fraying. Minimal scuffs to board edges. Center of upper and lower edges of front board panel have small indents - see photo. Shadow transfers to end-papers. Age-toning to text pages. Foxing limited to end papers and outermost margins of ad at the back. Text block is sound. Brown paper dust jacket with black lettering. Extremities are sunned, heavily on spine. Chips across edges at head and tail of jacket spine with loss of up to 1/4". Front jacket panel was separated from spine, secured with archival tape on the reverse side. Front fore-edge fold has several closed tears including 3/4" at tail, 1/2" at head and 2 3/4" along the middle. Back jacket panel has loss of 5/8" by up to 1/4" at the upper left fore-edge corner.
