First published in England in 1796. Full mottled calf with gilt spine lettering and decoration, sponged edges in black and yellow, marbled endpapers, l, [4], 234 + 296 pages. Covers a little dried but stabilized, spine labels absent, joints cracked but covers secure, spine ends chipped, text blocks sound with no loosened pages, very faint dampstain to the first twenty pages of the first volume, visible only because it exists as a whitish outline of its edges, blanks at beginning and end of both volumes foxed, names on preliminary blanks, pages very clean and free from foxing or markings. Political work focusing on the relationship between Britain and her colonies, specifically India, and encompassing other topics of the day, including the state of philosophy and literature, colonialism, religion, access to education for all, more. .
