First English Edition. 21 x 13 cm. xv, (1) [Publishers List], 405 pages, (2) [Publishers List / Blank]. Contemporary half calf over marbled boards. Red spine label with gilt title. Good condition. Binding seriously rubbed and bumped (see images). Marbled boards faded. Edges age darkened. Ex Libris of 'Fullerton of Carstairs' and paper label of 'Coupar Angus Library' on front paste down (see image). Bookworm tracks on first 20 - 25 pages, not affecting text. Mild damp staining to rear end papers and last few pages. Text complete and binding sound. A good reading copy or candidate for rebinding.
