85pp extract, printed in double columns, illustrated with 37 drawings and photographs, including numerous portraits, three non-consecutive internal pages were damaged and are here included in reproduction, salvaged from a damaged issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine, Volume 40, Nos. 5 & 6, March / April, 1906, Volume 41, Nos. 1 - 6, May - October, 1906, and Volume 42, No. 1, November, 1906. The original appearance of the author and muckraker's caustic expose of the corruption of the United States Senate, including Senators Nelson W. Aldrich from Rhode Island, Chauncey M. Depew of New York, Arthur P. Gorman of Maryland, and John C. Spooner of Wisconsin. The book wouldn't be published until 1953, by Academic Reprints, Stanford, California. Housed in protective mylar report cover. Very scarce.
