A first edition of the interesting religious poetry collection, The Treasury of American Sacred Song. Bound in quarter paper vellum with gilt lettering. This collection includes work by Oliver Wendell Holmes, John Townsend Trowbridge, Henry Longfellow, Emily Dickinson, and Ralph Waldo Emerson. William Garrett Holder, 1841 - 1922, was a congregational minister and hymnologist. The binding is tight and firm. The inner rear hinge is strained. There is slight wear to the extremities, including slight bumping, with marks to the boards. Internally the pages have slight browning, with spotting to the endpapers. Very Good.
