Assumed first edition with no other printings noted. Tight binding, clean interior. Green boards with bright gold decoration; moderate wear to corners and spine edges, mild scuffs. Rough-cut page edges. Text unmarked, some minor spots and stains throughout. A few pages have tanned sections where other papers were tucked in. Full page pen and ink illustrations with tissue intact. Frontis with photos of five of the authors.Being a compilation of witty, facetious, and satirical verse selected from the writings of British and American poets. Includes "Casey at the Bat." A lovely rare book! 407 pp. including appendices.
