First Edition. Octavo. VERY SCARCE in original paper-covered boards with paper label tipped to spine. Volume 2, only, of 2. Originally authored by Simon Francis Gay de Barron, professor of fortifications at l'cols Polytechnick from 1798 to 1804; translated fro the French by a captain of artillery, and late major and assistant adjutant-general in the Northern Army. Some pages uncut. Former owner plaque tipped inside front board. Very Good. Spine ends rubbed with half inch loss of paper at bottom of spine. Partial loss of paper label affecting one letter. Moderate to heavy foxing throughout interior pages.
