About this Item

Conrad Richter (1890-1968) had written for the pulps prior to his great success with "The Sea of Grass." This is his third published book, set on the American frontier of Ohio, and the first volume of a projected trilogy called "The Awakening Land." This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition (stated). Blue cloth binding, decorated in blue and red. Clean text; 302 pages; red topstain, others rough-cut. Endpapers tanned, with a stamp from a corporation on both front and rear endpapers (no other markings. A bit rubbed at the margins, with a small bit of fading along the bottom edge. The dustjacket is unclipped, with a few small chips/wrinkling on the edges. The artwork is striking, and the jacket remains very bright, thus the "plus" rating. In an archival plastic protector. Size: 8vo - over 7�" - 9�" tall. Seller Inventory # 002852
