Staying with the books about trees, forests and forestry (and I hope you know that I am a professional forester by training and practice, and collector of books, so look out if these books are to your liking as there will eventually be plenty), please find: "Trees Worth Knowing" by Julia Ellen Rogers, published by Doubleday, Page and Company of Garden City, New York, dated 1917 and the First Edition, and part of their Little Nature Library. The book is bound in finely ribbed dark green boards with a paste-down image of a clump white birch on the cover and gilt titles on cover and spine. The book is amply illustrated with forty-eight plates, sixteen of them in color. Condition: This book is in very good condition. There has been some very slight bumping to the hard covers and their corners and spine tips. Inside, the book is unmarked and the pages and plates are clean and bright throughout, without toning or foxing. The front hinge is cracked but the rear is intact and the binding still feels tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.…
