In clear protective cover. Title page dated 1909. Presumably the first American edition as the title page has W.R. Chambers Limited on it but below it says J.B. Lippincott. The spine also has lippincott on it. Original pictorial red cloth, stamped gilt, back, white and blue. Gray-coated endpapers. 6 colored illustrations by W. H. C. Croome.
