Add to basketPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania. The Penn Publishing Company. 1938. First Edition, First Printing. The first printing was published in November 1938. Thick octavo (8 x 6). 452 pp. including descriptions of flies shown in the color plates. Photo frontispiece showing Ray Bergman at his fly dressing bench. A multitude of color plates (16 in total) showing artificial trout flies of nearly every description: dries, wets (hundreds of them), nymphs, streamers, bucktails, steelhead, and landlocked salmon flies. Black and white plates. Text drawings. Nine decades have passed since its initial publication, and Bergman's Trout remains a basic source book for elegance and courtesy on trout waters. The book is bound in the original brown cloth, with gilt titles on the spine and front cover. Green decorated end papers. The book has been professionally rebacked, preserving the original spine panel. A clean, very good book.

If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required. My chosen shipping option is the U. S. Postal Service. USPS is the best in terms of service and cost efficiency. Overseas shipments are charged at cost. Other shipping options are available, such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.; however, they are frightfully expensive.
