Near fine in a good unclipped dust jacket. The bright red cloth binding is bright and clean with tight square corners and virtually no wear or fade. Nice uncracked pictorial endpapers showing maps of the Great Trek. The contents are white and fresh with no ownership inscriptions or any other markings, other than a very small prior seller's notation on the ffep. The good dust jacket is unclipped ($2.50). There is general edgewear and creasing with fading to the spine. The spine has minor losses to the ends, a small piece missing in the middle, and lengthy splits to the folds. The jacket has been reinforced some time ago with tape to the rear and is now protected in a removable mylar cover. From the blurb: "A novel of violence and passion, of Kaffir-killing, child-bearing, Bible-searching, and irrepressible young love; the story of the Great Trek of 1836 to the Transvaal undertaken by scattered bands of fiery, lusty, stubborn Boer farmers, incensed by the acts of the English in the Cape Colony which they had founded".
