Item description from seller

Fifty pamphlets in all, comprising the complete numbered catalogue of this important avant-garde series, 1976-84. From the first number, A Thought Is the Bride of What Thinking by Lyn Hejinian, August 1976, through #50, The Guard, by Hejinian, September 1984. Author list includes Susan Howe, Kenneth Irby, Kathleen Fraser, Clayton Eshleman, Richard Kostelanetz, Tom Mandel, Ron Silliman, Bruce Andrews, Bob Perelman, Charles Bernstein, Barrett Watten, Rae Armantrout, Larry Eigner, Kit Robinson, Robert Grenier, Alice Notley, Michael Palmer, Ted Greenwald, Steve Benson, David Bromige, Stephen Rodefer, Clark Coolidge, Peter Seaton, David Melnick, among others. Numbers 1-10 printed by Willits Printing; number 11 no printing statement; numbers 12-50 all printed hand letterpress by the publisher Lyn Hejinian. Many of the letterpress numbers have decorative covers. A handful of the numbers are author-inscribed to a third party. All of the pamphlets are staple-bound, in Fine condition. Hejinian was a central figure in the Language School group/movement, and this list includes nearly all of those figures, in addition to others only peripherally identified. A difficult series to assemble, especially in this condition; to acquire individual numbers would be comparatively expensive. Further details upon request. Q12153.…
