1883, David Douglas, Edinburgh, 21cm x 28cm portrait format hardback with brown linen boards. The titling on the spine is on a small panel at the top but is now barely legible. The book extends to 115pp plus the twelve plates. Each plate is protected by tissue paper which has very slightly browned both the page with the plate and the page facing but given the book's age this is not severe. See scans if present. According to the publisher these sketches were supposed to have appeared a guide to the railway published in 1881 but which were left out on the grounds of economy. The publisher continues thus, "They are therefore now produced in this edition de Luxe, with such descriptive and historical notes as the Editor has been able to collect.". Age browning to the bindings but the whole is intact and sound. This is an original copy and not one of the modern reprints currently on offer., Book weighs 755g.
