Twenty Years at Hull-House, with Autobiographical Notes.

IMPERSONALLY INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR: "FAITHFULLY FROM JANE ADDAMS". Second Edition (1930); First Printing Thus. Very Good: shows moderate wear to the extremities; slight spine lean; former owner's attractive vintage bookplate, dated 1931 and reading "St. John" and "Dorothy Alice Read" at the front pastedown endpaper; the text pages have tanned ever so slightly, due to aging; a faint 3" buckle in the underlying board at the bottom of the front panel (apparently a production flaw); a small dent to the outside edge of the rear panel; some faint thumb-smudges to the fore-edge and the top edge is somewhat dust-darkened; two pages mid-text show a newspaper clipping shadow (now removed); the binding remains secure; the text is clean. Free of any creased or dog-eared pages in the text. Free of any underlining, hi-lighting or marginalia or marks in the text. Free of ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, or labels. A handsome copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing moderate wear and minor cosmetic flaws. Clean, sturdy, and quite presentable. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. (8.8 x 6 x 1.35 inches). xiii, 413 pages. Illustrated with 12 full-page plates of prints by Norah Hamilton of Hull-House, Chicago, who has also contributed 51 duotone drawings to the text. A small vintage photographic portrait of a young girl has been laid in. Language: English. Weight: 1 pound, 9.5 ounces. The first edition was published by the Phillips Publishing Company in 1910.
