Neatly extracted from a bound volume. This multilateral agreement to abolish the African slave trade was signed by representatives of Great Britain, Austria, France, Prussia, and Russia on 20 December 1841. Austria, Great Britain, Prussia and Russia subsequently ratified the treaty, but France declined to do so. This Act confirms the ratification of the agreement, and reproduces the text of the treaty in English only. An appended section of 23 clauses provides additional instruction for implementing the terms of the treaty.
