Pictorial boards with wear at edges of boards. Soiling in a few spots in margins, but generally clean and bright; binding a little shaken and loose. The first issue with 'End of Contents" on page 14 and the imprint on the verso of title page. With a signed note from Greenaway, 11 Pemberton Gardens, dated 21 Nov, 1881 and a lithographed card, with an attractive Greenaway illustration, laid in. The first of the two books that Greenaway both wrote and illustrated, and the book that touched off the Greenaway vogue in book illustration. Size: Octavo (8vo). Previous owner's signature in ink.
