Add to basketThis collection of simple, perfectly idyllic verses concerning children who endlessly gathered posies, untouched by the Industrial Revolution, was Greenaway's first book (1879). True First Edition/First Printing with edges stained yellow and "End of Contents" on page 14 and the three illustrations on pages 21, 35 and 63 which were omitted in later printings. The Kate Greenaway Medal, established in her honour in 1955, is awarded annually by the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals in the UK to an illustrator of children's books. Engraved and Printed by Edmund Evans. Boards are rubbed, corners bumped, with a few dings. Pages are very clean. Binding is solid. An old handsome inscription at the top of the title page. 7½" - 9½".
