Esri founder and president Jack Dangermond and TED conferences founder Richard Saul Wurman presented their latest concepts for sharing understanding as well as data Wednesday at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. The 90-minute program included a look at their latest collaboration, Urban Observatory. Urban Observatory is an "interactive exhibit," like an online museum, that enables users to compare and contrast aspects of life in major cities in real time. Users, for example, could compare noise levels or highway access in Los Angeles, London and Abu Dhabi. Or they could simultaneously look at three aspects of one city, such as youth population, senior population and noise levels in Long Beach.
