Original full calf leather binding with raised bands, decorative tooled gilt designs in each compartment, gilt lettering, decorative gilt border with triple gilt line at edge (fillet). Heavy wear with the leather splitting at the front board and spine of volume 1. Marbled endpapers, all edges, decorated in mottled yellow, front board of volume 1 very weak. Unpaginated (approx 750 pages total). These large thick volumes give numerous woodcut illustrations of various coins from the ancient times to the 1700s. Overall in FAIR condition. A good gift for a coin collector -- not seen very often.
